It pains us to see timeless craftsmanship reduced to fast fashion.
Born in a land rich with heritage, artistry, and generations of master craftsmen.
In the heart of Pakistan, where culture, craftsmanship, and tradition have been preserved for generations, lies the historic town of Kalabagh — a place nestled along the mighty River Indus and renowned for its skilled artisans. For decades, the people of this region have carried forward the sacred art of handmade leather craftsmanship, passing techniques and skills from father to son as a living legacy.
It was here, shortly after the creation of Pakistan, that Asad Ullah Khattak and his father established their leather craftsmanship business in the 1960s. Their small workshop in Kalabagh became known for producing finely handcrafted leather chappals, sandals, shoes, and custom leather goods. Every piece reflected patience, precision, and a deep respect for traditional artistry.
For the Khattak family, craftsmanship was never just a profession — it was an identity rooted in honor, hard work, and heritage. Over the years, their dedication earned them recognition among locals who valued authentic handmade quality over mass-produced fashion.
But life took an unexpected turn when devastating floods struck the region, destroying homes, workshops, and livelihoods across the village. Like many others, the Khattak family suffered immense losses. Yet despite losing property and belongings, their spirit and craftsmanship remained unshaken.
After the floodwaters receded, Asad Ullah Khattak, together with skilled artisans and the younger educated members of the family, made a bold decision: to preserve their centuries-old craftsmanship by bringing it to the modern world through the power of the internet.
From this vision, Peshawari Chappal Store was born.
Today, we proudly continue that legacy by creating premium handcrafted leather footwear that honors the traditions of our ancestors while meeting the standards of modern craftsmanship. Every pair is carefully handmade by experienced artisans using genuine leather, traditional techniques, and years of inherited expertise.
Our mission is simple: to preserve authentic Pakistani craftsmanship and share its beauty with the world — one handcrafted pair at a time.
